Gavazzi is one of the largest suppliers in the mosaic-production industry. The company produces special fiberglass meshes on which mosaic materials can be back-mounted. This allows manufacturers to prepare mosaic sheets that are “face-up” for easy mounting, while leaving the greater part of the backside free for better adhesion.
Gavazzi was established in 1885 as Gavazzi Tessuti Tecnici (Gavazzi technical textiles), originally working in the textile/ribbon industry. As the industry’s needs shifted in the 1960s, so did the company’s focus. This led to an emphasis on fiberglass fabrics to serve a variety of applications. Besides supplying netting to mosaic producers, Gavazzi also provides products to nautical, sporting gear, wind energy, and ballistic-protection manufacturers.
In 2011, GV Service and Gavazzi established a distribution agreement, primarily for mosaic use.
